Credit Card frustration

On Friday I make a substantial payment. Shortly thereafter, I get a message online saying that due to potential fraudulent use, online account access for that card has been shut off and they're issuing me a new card. I can still see my available credit, and it doesn't reflect the payment, which by now has been taken out of my checking account. I'm assuming they've applied the payment to the balance on the new card, and isn't available on the card I currently have, and I haven't yet received my replacement. So, I'm using my checking account to pay for stuff instead of my credit card, being very careful not to overdraw my credit line on the credit card, which is creating its own cashflow issue. So I call the credit card company just now. Yup, the payment had gone through on the original card, they just never updated the online "available credit" to reflect it. So I could've saved myself the headache and been using my credit card this whole time, like I had expected to.
