Sometimes it's easy to forget that, on Facebook, we're not just between friends.
With my friends, I have some very inapropriate jokes. We're like that, we like to push the limits of good taste, we have some sayings that could be like "I wish aggressive AIDS upon him!", it's meant as a joke, something that makes each other react. It's okay between us because we know it's not serious, it's not something we think for real.
I'm not saying it's the case here, but maybe sometimes people forget they're not alone, that other people can read. Wishing AIDS on someone seems so random, and his defence was not very convinced, I'm thinking maybe he was just joking with his buddy.
