i think they've done a good job running the league and making it a success, but it's not really one of the top leagues in the world....

there is a vast difference between the mls top to bottom and the bundesliga, la liga or premiere league. or the top teams in serie a or ligue 1 or even some of the lower tier european leagues, for that matter. the mls champ would go nowhere if they were put in the champions league.
it's a really good developmental league, and they've done an excellent job in attracting fans and getting it a profile in this country and making it work financially. but it's a farm league, and will remain so for the immediate future. which is fine.
