I believe their thinking is that if you take away their money they'll stop breaking the rules.

To MLB it seems like all the players care about are their checks and not the game so if they take those away they might not be so likely to cheat.

I don't agree completely. Taking away their money is a start but when they have massive contracts that kick right back in the day after their suspension ends it means very little to them. Sure, they lost a million or three but they still have another 10-20 coming to them.

I don't know what the answer is but the 50 game ban and loss of pay isn't stopping guys from using PEDs.
Maybe one and done is the answer. *shrug*
