They still haven't said what he was actually suspended for. Did he fail a test? What exactly was he suspended for?

I read that they were counting the last test that he failed but got away with as a failed test and so they gave him 50 for that and another 100 for this second failure. They worked out a deal, not sure why MLB would do that, and they only gave him the rest of the season for not fighting the suspension.
Why would they work out deals? The CBA says it clearly what they penalties are. If they had him for 150 games then why give him less? Nail him and make the statement that there's no getting off easy. But no, they give out deals and lighten the sentence so the guys that fill the seats will be back out there quickly
Slap them all on the wrist but take Alex out behind the woodshed and beat his ass bloody. Seems fair.
