I know you feel like you're being sort of beaten up right now, but please take this in the spirit it's given

I know what it feels like that you *have* to do something or [vague unspecified bad thing will happen]. But you have to break that cycle and fight through the anxiety. It can be done, and as soon as you see that the vague thing doesn't happen, it gets easier. I'm obviously not a therapist or anything and in no way am I trivializing this, but you've got to break your habits.

I'm reminded of Stacy justifying her American Idol calls that she *had* to vote or how would people know? Literally no one would know.
