That makes no sense to me. I don't know how I feel about him and what he did, but the people he exposed are the ones making the rules.

Staying behind to face trial would be insanely stupid. He faces years of jail, while the people who did the bad things he exposed get nothing.

The consequences are just not fair for both parties.
