I understand a lot of these people have been doing a job for 25 seasons, and have more idea of what works and what doesn't than I do. I expect too that they're probably not getting the same calibre of applicants as they were when Survivor was at its peak.

But the direction the show is taking is "more returning cast members will keep the audience interested", which isn't the case, as the ratings show.
