I think it's too unique to be valuable and I think it misses the point that preferred provider healthcare plans are basically doing this negotiating

for you. He had a stupid plan and wound up having to do the work himself. I bet if he had a preferred plan the cost would have been pretty similar and he wouldn't have had to have come out of pocket for all of it.
