In response to "I dunno the market there, but if it's anything like here, I'm not haggling over $5k " by Will Hunting

What I have realized is that I am extraordinarily stubborn about these things.

In discussing the matter with our agent, I was told that everyone boosts prices in anticipation of summer buyers. That is apparently when the market is the strongest. I actually get offended when I see houses that are clearly overpriced remaining static with their asking price despite being on the market for many months. There is one place here that has been available for over 250 days now. The price was dropped once...in February...by $2,800. That drop is 1%.

We still have all of the places we like saved in our Zillow file. Only out of our five finalists has dropped with the end of summer (which is considered early August here when school starts). Its lowered asking price was 1.8%. People get so stubborn about their selling price. I am too much of an economist to accept that it's okay to leave an asking price constant when nobody shows any inclination toward paying that number. It only takes one sucker, I guess.
