Unless he's a black out drunk, he's probably wondering what anyone saw and he certainly can't ask.

I'd say he might just be grateful if you discreetly told him you saw, so he is aware of what kind of potential damage control he has to do.
It also gives you the opportunity to assure him of your discretion and set him at ease with you. Not to mention any gratitude he may feel for your forthrightness.
Unless of course you think he is one of those really *small* people who wouldn't be able to get past the little bit of embarrassment they would feel. In which case keep quiet.
