Good point. If you don't know the neighborhoods you're going to need someone to walk you through all the areas.

I really don't think people get how large in size Brooklyn really is and that one end to other is completely different. You can just about smell it when you've gone into a new neighborhood. :-)

Also, cost is all over the place. Sure, we read about how prices are skyrocketing but that's in only like a handful of neighborhoods near Manhattan. The rest of Brooklyn has been steady or slowly increasing.

If you're willing to take a 30-45 minute train ride to work each day you can live in a beautiful residential neighborhood that is affordable with most ammenities. Entertainment is always the one that's lacking when you get deeper into Brooklyn. Movies, pool halls, bars and things you'll find but no clubs, museums, theaters, etc.
