it's a fair point, really, i think there's no doubt in many cases the quality control in production is lacking....

though i am also old enough to remember when "made in japan" was considered to be a joke and when the products of korean manufacturing like hyundai were though of as being well below par. now japanese production is a mark of quality and korea has given us world class companies like samsung and hyundai is an automotive leader.

so it's possible things can change with time. markets sometimes force it, in a lot of ways. and the reality is, with 20% of imports to the us coming from china, there's just no real escaping them in our economy as currently constituted.
