I have barely done anything other than to fortify a village, and such. I have a tree farm, in the "town" , and a mineshaft to work on. A zombie killed me, so i made a suicide run for my dropped stuff, barely made it back.
Note, find a village, punch the wheat, replant the seeds immediately, use the wheat to make bread, carry bread to keep yourself alive.
If no village, break grass to get seeds, make a hoe, till grass close to water, plant seeds, harvest wheat. Repeat
