used to build roads. Each road is 4 blocks wide and each side has a cobble wall. Every 20 blocks or so I put torches on the wall. Cobble steps to go over taller hills, etc. Gates in a few places so I can enter and exit.
Then I built a tower on top of my mountain home so I can see it from home. :-)
No map yet and no redstone to build a compass.
