Plus, the money, by itself, wouldn't tie him to the drug ring.

To me it showed Walt still sees Hank as family, but he doesn't see Jesse as his son anymore. So, he's willing to have Jesse killed, but not Hank.

He was even willing to go to jail rather than have Hank die.
