He's coming out of a marriage and an 8-year relationship. He doesn't know how to date/court a girl anymore...he's figuring it out.
Have a talk with him and tell him, "Look, I love the compliments, but you're going a little overboard. I'm not sure how your ex is, but I don't NEED constant validation. I love that you think I'm smart and sexy and I trust that you're thinking it...even when you're not saying it. Relax...you got me, you don't have to try so hard."
Something like that.
I've said it a ton of times...if something were to happen with me and Carrie...I wouldn't have the first fucking clue how to date someone.
