I agree, but also Obama is partly responsible for that no-win situation.

Arming the rebels last year would probably have toppled the Assad regime, and the rebels would probably have set up a more moderate government than they would if they seized power tomorrow.
But that decision fell during an election campaign, Obama decided to defer because it would cost votes, and now he's in a no-win situation.
