i'm using internet exploror ... whatever version was standard on laptops / netbooks in 2011 (when I got the netbook) ...

I've only noticed this stuff in the past few months, and I have (or at least thougth that I have) pretty decent anti-virus protection. of course, even in my limited understanding of computer technology , "viruses" and "malware" may be 2 totally different things ...
but your IM offers a possiblity for me ... maybe it is just a thing that's somehow tied into past use ...
it's just strange because it's the most random of things that come up...
for example, i typed in the letter 'i' and it suggested ikea.com ... I don't recall having ever needed to go to ikea on my netbook, much less actually doing it ...
