But Freeman is unlikely to get them to the playoffs this year.

So why trade future draft picks for him if you are doing it in part because you can ditch him at the end of the season if it doesn't work out.

Freeman lost his captaincy(or whatever the word is) in part because he overslept and missed the team photo. He also bailed on one of those camps for kids. One with his name attached where the kids (well, their parents) paid $140. If I were any team, I would be hesitant to acquire him.
