I did the same thing way back in season 1. It just didn't move for me. Then when we did the re-watch I made myself watch to the end of S1.

After that, I couldn't wait for Sunday nights. Crash and I would stay up until 3-4 am watching every second.
Honestly, I think it's better than The Wire--which used to be my all time favorite show.
