i have some respect for her. i mean, it's *always* going to be some sort of insider....

and as far as that goes given who is out there, she has a lot of positives. she's been mostly right on a lot of stuff (she bucked the fed's prediction in 2007 that we'd avoid recession, she saw the slow rate of recovery etc) and her focus tends to be on jobs, which is the sort of thing the fed really should be doing if you're going to have one, imo.
To this point, Obama has basically botched the whole job of this appointment, letting people flounder out there while I guess hoping to steer everyone back towards Summers. ( At least I think that's what they were doing--it's hard to tell, really, as their strategery on this point seems hopelessly muddled). They don't really seem to want to appoint Yellen for some reason (probably because the big banks don't like her very much, I think) but at this point she's easily the most qualified candidate with a solid track record and they'd probably be best served by giving her the job.
