Probably not. And I don't entirely disagree with them.


I'm sure there are a lot of rational, concerned citizens who would like to see mandatory training and background checks implemented (and maybe a couple of the scarier-looking 'assault weapons' banned), and then be satisfied.

But there are far too many that would see those as just the first small steps.
