A lot of kids in college don't have enough money to cover expenses.

Because a lot of them have to cover the tuition and rent and books and food is the only thing that won't get you in trouble if you don't buy it.
Athletes with scholarships usually have the tuition and rent and food covered. And won't have to worry about paying back student loans.
