I say one of the best examples was a inebriated and lecherous game show host in the name of Richard Dawson.
I defy anyone to pull that off now and not get tasered. Seriously, I double dog dare anyone to do that.

Another thing that wouldn't work: Match Game. All the fun was in them skirting around the edges of what was appropriate for TV.
