Why wouldn't the Nazis look in the trunk? - cause they weren't really that worried that he would have fucking machine gun in the trunk. I'm sure going forward all criminals will check the trunks of cars.
Why wouldn't the rich couple just call the cops right after he left regardless of his threats?
umm, you've watched the show right? well they've read the papers and seen the news. Blow up old folks home: check. Murdered 10 witnesses in prison - check. 2 dead DEA agents (including his BIL) - double check. No one should expect them to go to the cops given all the stuff Walt had planned and done.
