I'm sitting here thinging about it and as the child of a US National, legally in the US on vacation, once your work insurance denied, she should have been covered by CHIPs. It's the joint insurance/medicaid program funded by the feds and the states. It covers all children up to age 19 who have no insurance, are a citizen or are legally in the US, and eligibility is not dependent on parental income. Keep that in mind if you ever have anything happen again (heaven forbid). And just to keep the republicans happy, it was designed and put in place by the Bush (2) administration and has nothing to do with obamacare.
