Don't get ahead of yourself babe. You can always file an amended return (or 5 or 6) ancorrect it yourself.

If you have access to the exact amount your employer reported to the IRS as tips, you can do an amended filing (1040X) for each year that it's different from what you filed. You'd have to get this info for a professional anyway, so you might as well do it yourself and save a couple of hundred bucks. Also, there's a decent chance that what was reported was actually less than what you reported and you'd get a refund for that. I know of at least 3 tax experts here on ST who are always filling to answer basic tax questions. Remember, if YOU identify a problem with a filing to the IRS, it's likely you won't have to pay any penalties and they may reduce any interest due.
