My lead was told she would have to come in today for up to 4 hours. She told them, No.

What are they going to do, fire her?
We're undergoing a re-org, where they're moving most everyone into new teams. Because the move might have happened when I was off Fri & Mon I had to pack up my pod on Thursday. My box is under my lead's desk still because the shut-down has thrown everything up in the air with the re-org. So I'm on a "lack of work" furlough (unrelated to the shut down but certainly budget-driven because there's plenty of work and callers are waiting over an hour on the phone) and won't know until I go back (possibly in mid-Nov) where I'm sitting and who my manager is.
So yeah, working for the Feds has it benefits but Congress isn't the only place where things are messed up.
