Sure --- but the Fed Chairman is like a Supreme Court justice; supposedly on his own once installed. And their terms don't line up with Presidents.

Considering his last appointment came during the worst economic turmoil in 80 years, there probably was a lot of thought to the idea to not change horses in mid-raging rapid, as well.
But once he's in, he's supposed to be an independent policy voice.
