From everything I've heard, and what I've seen, I don't fault the guy.

They were crowding around him, cutting into his lane. One of the ones that was cutting into his lane beside him nearly cut him off, then got in front of him, and then used his brakes to make the SUV bump him. The driver (who was with his wife and 2 year-old) stopped because he'd just been in an accident. All the bikers stopped, and st least one of them started beating on the SUV.
I'm unclear if that was the point where they slashed his tires or if that came later.
I don't fault the guy because I can't guarantee that I wouldn't do the same thing in his situation, and think it's more than likely that I'd do the same thing.
