but she can see the reward for that more easily so will be more driven to do that. also, I think she got to the point that she thought she didn't need

to practice dancing any more because her head got really swollen.
and she knows that it's more important to look good to get people through the turnstiles. when they see she's not as good a dancer anymore, it's already too late because she has their money.
