I am operating on the assumption the Tea Party people and their supporters are a bunch of fucking morons, because they believe they are Taxed Enough Already. But from what I can tell, federal tax levels are at some of their lowest levels since before The Great Depression. Sure, state and local taxes in some places like California have gone up a few percentage points over the past twenty-five years, but that still pales in comparison to the federal tax cuts over the same time frame.
