I think they're all pissy for 2 reasons.

1. Somehow, NYCers in general and critics and bloggers in particular decided a long time ago that the rest of the country was too dim to know what was good or bad, so they set themselves up as the epitome of all arts and culture. Woe to the person who disagrees with them.

2. They're being whiney little bitches because the attention was on Hollywood--the west coast--instead of them and they don't like that. I can't wait for the day when they collectively realize what a huge country this is and how many people live between the coasts and just how irrelevant they really are in the greater scheme of things. :)
