I don't know the first thing about country music, but to suggest that country music is in chaos and has been in some way co-opted after 9 or 10 months is stupid.
There are some new and successful acts. Good for them. It doesn't mean the industry has been turned upside down.
Mixing country with pop, rock and hip-hop acts has been happening for years. That's hardly a harbinger of the end times.
Re: Blake Shelton, I doubt he cares that there's a backlash to his comments. He's got a HUGE following from The Voice that know nothing about country, or the fact that he's knocked some of the old-timers.
