Everyone knows these capsules have landing rockets.
An astronaut would know that the landing rockets trigger 3 metres from the ground (or whatever).
So I can buy that it was all in her subconscious.
The leap of faith (for me) is that she would know how to trick the computer into thinking the capsule was 3 metres above ground using only a Russian instruction booklet for guidance
