The conservatives don't trust him because he's "a maverick" and moderate who didn't fall into rank and file with the far right. The moderates don't

like him because he in trying to court the "base" he swung too far right so they don't trust him. In many ways this election (assuming it works out) reaffirms my belief in the system and may spell the end (at least for a while) of the old politics (which is already some of the change Barak promised). Negative muck-raking has failed. Pandering has failed. Playing both sides of the fence failed. Obama has succeeded by (for the most part) laying out his vision and letting people decide if that's what they want.
