In response to "Friday Philosophy Question: "The enemy of achievement is contentment." But zen says "The absence of desire is bliss."" by Dr.Vermin

I believe the Buddha would say the absence of desire would achieve something: clarity

It's not wrong to achieve things in life, but doing so sometimes brings clutter into your life. And you might lose sight of what's important to you. When you rid your mind of desires, it opens the way for seeing your life clearly. Being concerned with fulfilling desires for your appetites, your penis, your stomach, can make you lose sight of what's important for your existence, your place in the world.
