I think reactions often are based on expectations. My parents visited last weekend....

..and my mother, who had seen pictures and knew the square footage, admitted to me that it looked smaller than she expected. (She grew up in NYC but has been out of the city for 40 years).
The next day, my Aunt and Uncle, who never left the city, came to visit me and my parents. They raved about what a great find my place was, how it was awesome and the price was great. They couldn't stop saying how lucky I was (especially that I had an actual bedroom)
