First-Cut Movie Screening: The Familymoon(2014) .... [Sandler/Barrymore]

Irvine, CA

400-seat theater 100% full.

MPAA rating: It's aiming for PG-13.

The film title is officially The Familymoon. It has familiar qualities of an Adam Sandler Rom-Com. But the premise of the film approaches the concept of family in a different way. With folks divorcing, separating, widowed, and single-parent homes. This film attempts to bring together these homes with new bonds of family.

Built into the film is the Sandler humor, crude but funny. The crowd was laughing pretty good at some of the bits. There's enough to bring in the guys and the ladies will have common ground with DBARR.

As a wrap, it's funny and a good message. Quirky at times, but will likely be enjoyed by most.

P.S. The real surprise of the the film is the youngest daugther played by Alyvia Alyn Lind. Star on the rise.
