I know it's bad for the economy but they'll take that out of my Cold Dead hands. If they want to take that away they'll need to take the Bush Tax cuts back as well and we all know that's not happening.

I feel somewhat differently on this particular issue because I do think (contrary to the writer) that home ownership is a big driver in our economy.

canada doesn't have one and home ownership rates are higher than the us. great britain had one, abolished it, and it had little effect....
