I'm not sure I agree. Scout Leaders are members of an organization that's supposed to build character and foster leadership, as well as

organise camping trips, set examples for young people etc. Why shouldn't that be relevant?
There are other groups of people who have their personal, off-duty behaviour called out, because of the values of the institutions they represent - politicians, people in the military, priests, etc
(I'm not saying it doesn't suck to have your organization's rep tarnished by these morons)
