I always wonder what happened to bike bells. Sometimes, I'm walking down the street with a friend talking, and as usual, I use my hands when I talk. I cannot count how many times I've almost clotheslined a silent cyclist coming up behind me because gesturing, or putting my backpack on or whatever. Seriously, those bicycle bells may look/sound silly today and that may be the reason they have fallen out of favor. The result is that one day a cyclist is going to get hurt because I bent over to tie my shoe. I'm sorry, I should have to "look both ways" before bending over to tie my shoe.
And also: WTF are they even doing on the sidewalk anyway?
