Speaking of the South, I continue to be pleasantly surprised by how much I find engaging about the show Nashville

The thing at the end of last season/beginning of this felt like a kind of stunt, but besides that, I like the characters and their development. That did bring some interesting things out of Deacon, though. It might be Emmy time for him. I also thought I'd hate Juliette, but her character continues to surprise.
I was also thinking this show is brimming with strong female characters -- and I don't mean that in a stereotypical "butt kicking" way. Just in an interesting, character way. They're just great characters who happen to be women.
