the academic gods conspire against me ... details IM ...

so, the university has begun posting offered classes for the upcoming SPring term. Because of the required classes in my program, I already know that there are 3 classes I need to take that will be offered. And with it being a Master's program, they advise that we don't take more than 3 classes in a semester.

One of the classes I'll be registering for is on Monday afternoons. The 2nd is on Tuesday evenings. The third is on Thursday afternoons.

As I was looking over things, I decided to take a glance at the English dept. offerings just for fun ... a Professor I had this past Spring is offering a Topics class on Gothic Fiction. I would SO love to get in on this class just for the fun of upping my Undergrad English creds a little.

The downside? It's offered on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons. So, it'd be in direct conflict with my required THursday afternoon class.

To get in on it, I'd basically have to either take just 2 of my master's classes + the English class ... OR, take an alternate elective class for my program at another time along with 2 of the required classes and the English class ... or take 2 req' classes and the ENligh class, knowing that I'll have to pick up an extra class somewhere to catch up on keeping on track in my program.

Damn you, academic gods. Damn you straight to the academic underworld ...
