In response to "When donating food to food banks, does anyone here know from personal experience whether banks only want food that is easy to give to families in " by kelly

I'm also hoping they will take the cans i have that have been written on.

Food drive time seems to also become "pantry cleaning time", where I donate the (unexpired!) items sitting in the pantry that we probably won't use. I have no idea why we buy, say, cans of soup. We never eat them. But we buy them and they sit for 6+ months until I decide to donate them to people that will actually eat them. But when I put stuff in the pantry after purchase, I write on the tops of the cans so I can easily see what they are. Our lazy Susan is packed.
