I liked it in that it was more of the same, Thor being gruff, Loki stealing scene after scene but it didn't feel like it was anything new. The cast felt under used but I'm glad anytime some of them get work (Eccelston, Skarsgard, The Borg Queen, Russo and Stevenson.
I don't think, however, that Portman and Helmstud have any chemistry.
And opening did sort of feel like a He-Man movie. I think all openings like that are going to be judged against "Fellowship of the Rings" for a long, long time which felt mythic and otherworldly. In contract the opening to Thor 2 felt like a few guys running around in plastic outfits and swinging styrofoam swords.
But ok Geeks...did they just tease the Infinity Gauntlet/War with the first After Credit Scene? I assume we're years off from anything like that with the Avengers trilogy needing to finish and then Guardians of the Galaxy but...an Infinity War movie or trilogy would be massive.
