okay, so ... i'm not superstitious or anything, but this doesn't bode well for me ....

So, tomorrow I'm supposed to conduct an interview for one of my college classes. It's a fieldwork class, and we're required to do a couple of interviews, recorded, at least 1 transcribed, etc etc etc .... this is a required class, and offered only in the Fall terms ... the place I'm going to for the interview is about 30 - 40 minutes away. Now, the problem i'm coming to is not catastrophic, but it is a minor set-back.

The event that I'm going to is running from 8 am to around 2 pm, and the interview will be with the married couple who hosts the event (It's a "small animal swap meet")... I don't *have* to be there when things start up, which is a good thing.

My hiccup here is that i'm supposed to take some forms -- consent forms, informed consent, that sort of thing that I need the interviewed couple to sign etc. as part of the interview process. I just went to print out the forms and realized that the printer is COMPLETELY out of ink. THere's no telling how long it's been out; I haven't had to print anything from home in a few weeks.

Some of you long-timers on ST will recall issues I've had in the past with my sister...you know, the one who's obsessed with Muse's lead singer and obsessively prints out stuff periodically and runs us through ink cartridges a little faster than what I at least would consider normal useage...

Now, i'm not accusing her of having recently burned through an ink cartridge and failing to replace it or help pay for a new cartridge to replace it in a timely manner. It's just that the timing here could not have been any worse.

So, in the morning I have the following options :

find a neighbor who has a printer that I can use (probably not the best option for a situation with time concerns) ...

go to the public library as soon as they open at 8 o'clock and pay 25 cents per page (i'm looking at maybe 10 pages, maybe a few more) ...so not a "terrible" option though I'm not happy with the thought of shelling out a few bucks to get the paperwork that I need ....

or, I could drive about 5 or 6 miles out of my way to go out to the community college, where I'll be able to print out everything that I need for little to nothing apart from the extra time i'll lose and the gas (which is negligible I'll admit) ...

When will I ever learn? I could have printed this stuff out this afternoon when I was picking up the recording equipment and what not that I need. But nooooo ... surely, I would be able to print stuff out at home, Right?
