In reading Game Change, something that shines through is that Romney's Boston team was showered with money.

We all know how that turned out. My suspicion is that the billionaire club will wait to see where their dollars can matter this time rather than trust the Roves to get things done.
The story with the Ricketts, the Cubs owners, is particularly savage. Fred Davis made an incendiary video for them that got stolen before they could air it. When it was leaked to Obama's staff, Ricketts became persona non grata in Chicago, and not just because of Rahm.
Nobody wants to overstep quite yet because of what just transpired a year ago.
