anyway, as a former heavy smoker, the solution for people affected is really to just switch to e-cigs at home.

They are. Ecigs take a bit of effort to keep them going well. Cigarettes take nothing but a lighter. I wish him the best of luck kicking the habit. -- nm

depending on the construction, it's definitely possible, plus that means windows are probably close enough together for it to enter the other home
